Chapter 5. Active Memory Sharing
configuration using IVM
Active Memory Sharing is an IBM PowerVM advanced memory virtualization
technology that provides system memory virtualization capabilities to IBM Power
Systems, allowing multiple logical partitions to share a common pool of physical
memory.
This chapter describes how to configure Active Memory Sharing (AMS) using the
IVM UI and at a high level some of the planning considerations that should be
used. Additional information on Active Memory Sharing can be found at the IBM
PowerVM portal located here:
http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/power/software/virtualization/
